THINK LANGUAGES NOV 27TH 2023
Think Languages Week kicked off in Galway Community College recently. TY students studying a modern foreign language experienced a couple of jam-packed days of cultural events. Morning time began with students, jumping, hopping, dancing, and bouncing around the library in response to an interactive language workshop. To recharge, students sampled the delicious food that their classmates from all over the world had kindly offered to bring in and share- the offerings were scrumptious!
Afterwards it was time to warm-up for the Roots of Words Percussion Workshop and what a hit that was! Students were given an opportunity to make some noise with purpose and raise those vibrations and they certainly did-smiles all round!
After lunch it was time to wrap up for some November sunshine for an Outdoor Classroom experience where students were encouraged to create some objects from the remnants of late Autumn- stunning intricate pieces indeed!
Tuesday afternoon began in a whirl with students swinging to salsa and trying to remember their steps! A truly enjoyable workshop with a fusion of dance styles.
And that’s a wrap Think Languages 2023, we cannot wait for next year! There are rumblings that plans are already underway…..
